Rhizomes are underwater stems that grow horizontally and nourish each other if needed: they develop in solidarity and without vertical hierarchy.
The TOUT-MONDE Art FOUNDATION strongly believes that even though people and institutions are struggling because of a pandemic, the global movements requesting more social justice are forcing institutions to assume greater accountability for the historical exclusion of underrepresented communities in the arts. Therefore, even though everyone is overwhelmed and budgets slashed these days, we think it is a strategic and timely moment to build and consolidate rhizomatic partnerships to support these communities, in solidarity and without hierarchy.
For now is the time to join our forces, now is the time to join our voices to be more impactful.
What is a Rhizome-Partner?
The TOUT-MONDE Art FOUNDATION is launching an international network of Rhizome Partners, consisting in cultural institutions
that are committed to support underrepresented communities in the arts, such as Caribbean artists, who have been struggling for too long to be heard on the international art market. Rhizome Partners decide to collaborate with the TOUT-MONDE
Art FOUNDATION and other Rhizome Partners to join forces to develop more impactful and lasting projects.
